Pattern Description:

Harlow the Koala is a fun amigurumi pattern that is crocheted with worsted weight yarn. If you would like to create a larger version you might choose to crochet with a bulky yarn and coordinating hook. This koala is low sew and works up quickly. The specific yarn I used for this example is Lion Brand Heartland. I have also tested this koala pattern using Premier Parfait Chunky yarn.

Pattern Overview:
The pattern is considered to be low sew. The legs, arms and tail are attached as you crochet the head and body. When I started crocheting amigurumi, I did not enjoy sewing the pieces together at the end. With that in mind, I try to create my patterns with as many pieces attached as you go. Once you are finished, all that remains are the ears, nose and eyes (unless you choose to use safety eyes). Then, if you want to make the accessories, you can tie the scarf around the koala’s neck and tack the beanie onto the head. I used faux fur yarn for the pom pom on the beanie. You could use premade poms or make some with yarn if you choose. Adding little elements would be super cute too. Maybe add a little bow tie, taking care to secure any additions extra snug for littles.

This pattern would be perfect for:
• Birthday Gift
• Keepsake Gift
• Craft Shows or Markets
• Photo Prop
• Winter Decor
